Friday is a 12:30 early release!

It's hard to believe that spring is right around the corner. Please remember to put sunscreen/bug spray on your child before he/she comes to school in the morning. It would be a good idea to keep a lightweight long-sleeve shirt in his/her backpack because our classroom will be chilly once the AC kicks on for good.

A Reminder on Appropriate Dress
 The bottom of tops must meet the tops of bottoms, spaghetti straps/halter tops should only be worn on top of a shirt, and shorts/skirts should not be too short (JYJ Student Handbook).

Jr Tree Stewards Program

Through this wonderful program, the class class learned all about how trees function and soil composition. Today we finished the program by planting two trees near the gym. Special thanks to Eve and Matt Coats for their help today! 

Dear Parents,
 
As part of the culmination of our study of The Little Red Hen, we have re-written the tale with helpful animals, instead of the lazy ones.  Our new version of the story recounts how friends work together to throw a birthday party for our class giraffe, Jorge.  I'm looking for a volunteer from each room who would be willing to bring in a snack for us to enjoy as we perform the story of Jorge's birthday.  If you would be willing to contribute something to eat, please let me know:   agourley@wcpss.net  or 856-7650.
